Education begins teaching exams with 1,335 applicants for 630 places

The 630 offered places are distributed in 393 in Mallorca, 35 in Menorca, 184 in Ibiza and 18 in Formentera

The Ministry of Education and Universities will start this Saturday the tests for the teaching opposition selection process in the Balearic Islands, in which 1,335 admitted candidates will finally compete for 630 places in the public education system.

The call, which will take place throughout the weekend in different locations on the islands, begins with a first phase considered key for the incorporation of new teaching staff, in a process that began with 1,434 registered individuals.

The 630 places offered are distributed territorially as 393 in Mallorca, 35 in Menorca, 184 in Ibiza, and 18 in Formentera, while the admitted candidates are divided as 999 in Mallorca, 73 in Menorca, 271 in Ibiza, and 12 in Formentera.

To ensure the correct development of the process, the Ministry has established a total of 78 tribunals, of which 46 are located in Mallorca, 22 in Ibiza, 9 in Menorca, and 1 in Formentera.

In Mallorca, they will take place in facilities such as the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), various secondary education institutes, integrated vocational training centers, the Professional Conservatory of Music and Dance, and the Official School of Languages, among other enabled spaces.

On the other islands, the exams will be held at IES Quartó del Rei and IES sa Serra, in Ibiza; at IES Pasqual Calbó, in Menorca; and at CEIP Sant Ferran de ses Roques, in Formentera.
