Rafael Nadal will be awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Salamanca
Sources from the academic institution highlight the "values it transmits"

PalmRafael Nadal will receive an honorary doctorate on October 3. from the University of Salamanca in a solemn ceremony held in the Auditorium. The University of Salamanca's faculty approved this award on January 20th, in the same session that approved the recognition of French microbiologist, geneticist, and biochemist Emmanuelle Charpentier, who will receive it on October 24th, according to the academic institution.
Rafael Nadal's Honorary Doctorate, which caused a notable expectation among the university community, was an institutional proposal approved by the governing council for "his personal career and professional achievements that have inspired millions of people around the world, demonstrating that with effort, dedication and talent you can get something extra.
The Christmas candidacy was defended by the dean of the Faculty of Education, Ricardo Canal, who described the Balearic tennis player as "one of the best athletes of all time" and justified the proposal, not only for his sporting achievements, but for being "an example throughout the world of values such as discipline and work," the spirit of improvement and commitment to excellence."
"All of these are values that any of us at the university defend and seek to foster in our students, whether to help them become professionals or researchers working for a better society. Navidad is a great ambassador for our country and, why not, for our university as well," concluded the deg.
This is the second public recognition the Mallorcan tennis player has received in just over two months, as it should be remembered that at the end of June, Felipe VI appointed him Marquis of Levante de Mallorca.
