PalmaThe Balearic Islands will leave behind this Friday afternoon the episode of rainfall that has affected the Archipelago in recent days and face a weekend of stable weather and mild temperatures. This is forecast by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), which expects days of "good weather" both Saturday and Sunday as well as Monday, a holiday for the Day of the Pilar, although occasional rainfall may still occur in some spots.
The Aemet delegate in the Balearic Islands, Mar铆a Jos茅 Guerrero, has explained that this Friday there are no warnings activated for rainfall, although this does not exclude the possibility of some occasional downpour in parts of Mallorca and the Pityusic Islands. In any case, the rainfall should not reach 20 liters per square meter in one hour, the threshold from which warnings are activated.
The wind will blow moderately from the north, with strong intervals in Menorca. The maximum temperature will range between 20 and 24 degrees, while the minimum will be between 10 and 16 degrees, which will be reached at the end of the day. The values will be close to normal for this time of year, with a usual temperature of about 24 degrees for the maximum and 15 for the minimum.
Despite the improvement in the meteorological situation, this Friday there will be warnings for coastal phenomena. In Menorca, the warning will be orange between 00:00 and 15:00 hours and yellow during the rest of the day, due to waves that can reach four or five meters. In the Serra de Tramuntana and the northeast of Mallorca, the warning will be yellow until 15:00 hours, with waves of between three and four meters.
Saturday, temperatures of up to 25 degrees
The situation will clearly improve on Saturday. The sky will be slightly cloudy, with some intervals of clouds throughout the day. In Menorca, the wind will be light or moderate from the northwest, with coastal breezes during the central hours.
The maximum temperature will rise to 22-25 degrees, while the minimum will drop compared to Friday and will remain between 7 and 15 degrees. Sunday, the weather will remain stable, with the sky slightly cloudy for a good part of the day. During the night, however, the sky will become very cloudy. The wind will be light and variable, with the persistence of coastal breezes. The temperature will rise again, with maximums between 23 and 27 degrees and minimums between 11 and 17 degrees.
Monday, possible return of showers
The Monday holiday, Pilar Day, will begin with very cloudy skies, a situation that could lead to occasional precipitation in some parts of the Islands. The situation will tend to improve during the afternoon, when the sky will gradually clear.
The wind will blow light or moderate from the north and northeast and the temperature will remain at levels similar to those of Sunday. Thus, after several days marked by precipitation, the weekend presents itself with stability, pleasant temperatures and a predominance of sun, with the exception of some scattered showers on Friday and Monday.
