PalmaThe Government will approve this month the order for the preparation of the 2027 budgets with the aim of taking the spending ceiling to Parliament next October. This was announced by the first vice-president and Minister of Economy, Antoni Costa, who also issued a warning to Vox. Although the Executive wants to seek the support of Manuela Cañadas's party for the accounts, on this occasion it is not prepared to make concessions that have nothing strictly to do with the numbers.

Costa has admitted that the Executive managed to approve the 2025 accounts because it accepted Vox's demands on "other issues", such as linguistic matters, democratic memory, and immigration. However, for 2027 the Government's approach is "the same as with the 2026 accounts, when we could not approve the spending ceiling: law by law". Therefore, the message to the far-right is clear: either it negotiates strictly on the accounts or they will not move forward. "It was done this way with the Omnibus Law and it didn't go so badly," he defended.

Costa has not yet spoken with Vox, but has already closed the door to the idea that the measure would call into question regulations on other issues. Similarly, the Executive also plans to take both the agrarian law and the coastal law to Parliament, with or without Vox's supportwith Vox's support or not.
