PalmaThe Ara Més-Front Ampli coalition presented this Friday the campaign slogan for the upcoming general elections on November 29th: 'Living well, living here'. The candidacy wants to place at the center of political debate the difficulties faced by residents of the Balearic Islands in maintaining a dignified life on the islands, in a context of economic growth that does not translate into an improvement in the living conditions of a large part of the population.

The head of the list for Congress, Carme Gomila, explained that the coalition's proposals will focus on the daily problems of the citizenry and the consequences of the Balearic economic model. Among the priorities is access to housing, with measures such as limiting rent prices, restricting the purchase of properties by non-resident individuals, prohibiting acquisitions for speculative purposes, and mobilizing the 105,000 empty homes that, according to the candidacy's data, exist on the islands.

For his part, the candidate from Més per Menorca, Mateu Berenguer, has claimed the need for the Balearic Islands to have their own voice in Congress, independent of the guidelines of the large state parties. In this sense, he has defended a fairer financing system and the approval of measures that take into account the added costs derived from insularity.

The electoral program of Ara Més-Front Ampli also includes proposals to place limits on tourist overcrowding, protect the purchasing power of wages and pensions, and strengthen public services. With the slogan 'Living well, living here', the coalition wants to link the candidacy to one of the main debates of the islands: the difficulties in continuing to live in the Balearic Islands in dignified conditions.
