PalmaThe Provincial Electoral Board of the Balearic Islands has dismissed the three complaints that Ara MÉS-Front Ampli had filed against the Council of Mallorca for alleged violations of institutional neutrality during the electoral period. The complaints referred to publications and actions related to a visit to the Maritime Museum, an activity at the Seniors' Stay hotel, and the construction works on the Sant Llorenç bypass.

The Board considers that the writings did not specify enough which elements of the publications or visits constituted, according to the coalition, a violation of Article 50 of the Organic Law of the General Electoral Regime (LOREG). Specifically, it points out that the expressions, images, or sequences that would violate institutional neutrality were not identified, nor were the measures requested to be adopted specified.

According to the resolutions, this lack of specificity prevented the Council of Mallorca from being able to defend itself specifically. The Board also states that it is not its responsibility to carry out a general oversight of the administrations' activity during the electoral period, nor to reconstruct ex officio the facts that the complaints do not define.

The electoral body adds that the documentation provided did not show, in an immediate, obvious, or unequivocal manner, actions that would justify such a reconstruction. Therefore, it concludes that there are not enough elements to uphold the complaints.

The three resolutions, issued on November 4, separately dismiss the complaints regarding the Maritime Museum, the seniors' stays, and the Sant Llorenç bypass. An appeal may be filed against each of the agreements before the Central Electoral Board within 24 hours of notification.
