Maria Joaquina Ferrer, new Director General of Coasts and Littoral
Ferrer has developed an extensive career in the public sector, with more than 25 years of experience in administrative, legal and management roles.

PalmThe Governing Council approved this Friday the appointment of Maria Joaquina Ferrer as Director General of Coasts and the Coastline, at the proposal of the Regional Ministry of the Sea and the Water Cycle. A civil servant for the Autonomous Community since 1996, Ferrer has extensive experience in the public sector, with more than 25 years of experience in administrative, legal, and management roles.
She holds a law degree from the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) and completed her training with specialized courses in administrative law, public procurement, economic management, and risk prevention, as well as in areas related to the coastal environment and climate change.
Throughout her career, she has participated in various programs and conferences on transparency, liability procedures, the impact of climate change on the coast, and innovative public management strategies.
Among the priorities of this General Directorate are the planning of the maritime-terrestrial public domain, environmental protection of the coast, legal security for concessionaires, and the drafting of the future law on the planning and comprehensive management of the Balearic Islands' coast.
