PalmMÁS por Palma has called on the mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez, to specify the city neighborhoods that will be affected by the Catalan government's Land Acquisition Law, which they consider a "urban development coup" and a "gift" to large real estate developers. "Palma cannot be allowed to be a Monopoly game where speculation reigns and families have to survive." The city is for "living," not for "making developers rich," they stated.

According to the eco-sovereignty party's calculations, in terms of developable land alone (nine zones), this law represents €800 million in extraordinary profits for property owners and construction companies. "Martínez says there won't be any construction in traditional neighborhoods, but he's silent about the neighborhoods that will be condemned to speculation and overcrowding. The mayor and the PP don't keep their word. This isn't the first time they've said one thing and done the opposite," criticized MÁS spokesperson for Palma, Neus Truyol.

MÁS councilors for Palma, Neus Truyol and Kika Coll, at a press conference.

In response to this complaint, they have asked Martínez to "come forward" and explain which neighborhoods will be affected, since this PP law allows "new neighborhoods to be built without the public services, parking, and green areas that residents need." For the eco-sovereignty party, these new constructions will lead to the creation of "bedroom neighborhoods," since residents will be left with no services except to sleep in the neighborhood. Truyol denounced the fact that "more people without more services means overcrowded schools, collapsed health centers, and more cars driving around without finding parking. All this in exchange for giving away hundreds of millions of euros to large developers." Truyol denounced the fact that Martínez "is hiding in his office" and emphasized that "he cannot continue hiding the truth or playing with people's patience." "They're doing everything so a few can make money by building homes, but they'll be homes that Palma families won't be able to afford," the eco-sovereignty activist stated.

He also emphasized that Martínez claims that "he won't build in traditional neighborhoods," which he questioned, as it's a law "written by the Prime Minister, Marga Prohens." "Perhaps the PP is counting the votes it will lose in each neighborhood? Doesn't the PP think about the people? Don't they think about the families who have the right to a home within a neighborhood with schools, health centers, and a park? Everything they touch is to make money, not to improve life in the neighborhoods," they charged. Furthermore, Truyol asked Palma City Council if it will exclude Son Sardina, but will it condemn Son Cladera?

For MÁS por Palma, the mayor's "lack of explanations" is a gesture of "cowardice and submission" to private interests, which is why they have argued that "if he believes this plan is good, he should explain it openly." However, they have argued that it is "indefensible" and that is why they "remain silent." "The PP's silence is a confession," the councilor indicated.

However, MÁS por Palma has called on residents to "organize" and "defend the city."
