PalmThe Memoria de Mallorca association will exhibit photographs of victims of enforced disappearances during the Spanish Civil War between Friday and Tuesday at Ca n'Oleo (Palma). The exhibition, entitled "Sense Olvido," has been scheduled to commemorate the International Day of Enforced Disappearances, which will take place next Saturday. It will be open to the public next Friday, Saturday, and Monday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
According to Memoria de Mallorca, the exhibition will consist of eight panels with eight photographs of disappeared persons on each side. Each image will be accompanied by a biography of the victims. All the content, the association noted, was donated by the families of the victims during the last term, under the coordination of the Government and with the advice of memorial organizations, activists, and experts.
The exhibition was first presented in October 2021 at the Palma Conference Centre as part of the commemoration of the Day of the Victims of Francoism by half a thousand relatives of victims.
The exhibition, Memoria de Mallorca highlighted, will serve as "an act of remembrance and tribute" to the victims of forced disappearances, "one of the most serious crimes against human rights." "In these cases, the victims are not only the missing persons, but also their families, condemned to live in uncertainty and pain," they stressed.
