PalmaThe Council of Mallorca also began the term this Thursday with the first plenary session after the summer. Beyond the debates that were taking place inside the plenary hall of the Royal Palace, a curious image could be captured in front of the entrance portal to the headquarters of the island institution.
Just two days before September 12, the Day of Mallorca set by the Council of Llorenç Galmés, the island institution set up a decorated stall with a box with some letters written in markers that invites everyone who wants to, to take a flag of Mallorca. The stall was set up for a while in front of the Council portal for the recording of a promotional video for the Day commissioned by the institution's communication team, in which different people pick up one of the flags. A preview of the piece can be seen on the Instagram profile of @culturamallorca.At the beginning of the plenary session, President Galmés announced that he was gifting a bracelet and the flag to all councilors "so that you not only carry our flag in your hearts, but so that you can show it wherever you go," he said.
The Council of Mallorca is once again giving away 40,000 flags this year through the written press on the occasion of the National Day of September 12th.
