PalmMallorca is already gearing up to unite this Thursday in a single cry: to demand an end to the genocide of the Palestinian people. The citizen initiative, supported by a dozen organizations, was launched on Wednesday, July 23, with around forty municipalities signing up.

Within a week, almost every town in Mallorca has already joined, organizing a march or a rally at a specific location in the municipality. As for Palma, several neighborhoods have organized their own marches.

The initiative was born when a couple of women, inspired by the international movement of the March for Gaza—which began on June 13 in Egypt and "was repressed and frustrated"—felt it was important to propose a march to Mallorca to show solidarity with the Palestinian people. The proposal was initially presented at the assembly organized by Mallorca for Peace on June 21, and subsequently at an assembly open to all interested parties on July 4 in Montuïri.

Binissalem has already hung the peace flag on the balcony of the Town Hall.
Inca has also joined the initiative

From there, "an intense process of hard work began to connect people from many communities, from the grassroots level, always guided by the principles of the global march, dignity, and peace," the organizers explain. "The response has been magnificent, and it demonstrates the power of self-organized citizens when we want to and believe in what we do," they add.

The owners of the signage company 72Signs, from Son Rapinya, have offered to print the banners for the headers.
