Alaró claims craftsmanship and the local product with a new edition of the Guild Fair

PalmaThe XXVII Artisan Guilds Fair will take place on Sunday, October 4th, in a new edition that will once again turn the municipality's streets into a showcase for local crafts, culture, and gastronomy. The Alaró City Council presented the fair this Thursday, which this year incorporates as its main novelty a street dedicated entirely to local products.

The mayor of Alaró, Llorenç Perelló, and the Councilor for Market and Fair, Mari Cabañero, have highlighted the participation of the artisanal sector and the variety of proposals that make up the program. The day will once again focus on trades and disciplines such as weaving, stone, glass, wood, jewelry, and painting, with the desire to claim the value of handmade work.

The fair maintains this year the slogan 'Forget the Made in, what awaits you is The handmade...', a declaration of intent that summarizes the commitment to give prominence to products and trades linked to the territory.

A new space for local products

The main novelty of this edition will be the incorporation of a street dedicated exclusively to local produce, an initiative that has the collaboration of the Government. The proposal is added to a program that will also have gastronomy as one of the main attractions.

The food and wine exhibition will bring together this year eight bars and restaurants, nine wineries and a local beer brand. In addition, the program includes 13 exhibitions of different types spread across various points of the municipality.

"We open our town's doors for another year with great enthusiasm and a great desire to share our legacy," assured councilwoman Mari Cabañero. The head of Market and Fair has also highlighted "the great response and participation of the artisans" and has remarked that the new local produce street will allow for completing "a route full of life, cultural proposals and our traditional food and wine exhibition".

The Alaró Guild Fair will be on Sunday, October 4th. According to the municipal calendar, the day is scheduled between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM.

The center, closed to traffic

The fair will involve closing the entire town center to vehicle traffic. The City Council has enabled and signposted several peripheral parking areas at the main entrances to the town, including the sports field area, the entrance from Consell, the Torrent de l'Estret, and the Camí de les Barreres.

The Council recommends that residents and visitors use these parking lots and complete their access to the urban center on foot.

Despite the urban improvement works being carried out in the municipality, the mayor has defended the continuity of the fair and the desire to maintain its essence.

"We continue working to offer the best service and maintain the essence of our fair," stated Perelló, who explained that the center will be distributed into streets grouped by artisan trades and that there will also be spaces reserved for local associations.

"It is a great opportunity to show everything that Alaró is and everything our companies do," he concluded.
