Algaida promotes festivities with a "tender and courageous outlook"
Mayor Margalida Fullana announces an extensive program of events, including traditional events, new features, and citizen collaboration and participation.

The mayor of Algaida, Margalida Fullana, begins the greeting of the program of the Santiago Festivals by appealing to the citizens: "Stop for a moment... that in front of you is a written hug. These lines are not just words - they are for you, who love this town..." she says before beginning the more formal part.
We talk with Fullana about the festivals and everything that surrounds them: "I would like to emphasize that the Sant Jaume festivals are an opportunity to meet again from what really matters: taking care of ourselves and everything that makes us a town," she explains, while inviting us "to take a step back, breathe in the land, the town and, above all, the people who make it beat."
In this sense, she points out that what she wants is to recover the way of doing things from the villages of a time: "It is to take care of the simple life, the one that is born from a 'good morning' in the street, from a never spontaneous smile, from an open door.
The mayor insists on giving importance to the word 'care' and in this sense, she asks the question: "What do we need as people? To be cared for, but also the fact that we care gives us good energy"
With this starting point, Fullana makes known An extensive program of events featuring traditional events, new features, and also citizen collaboration and participation. in the preparation of all the activities planned between July 10 and 27.
For the mayor, "the festivities are much more than a series of events: they are shared moments, laughter in the open air, and a lot of work done with love," and she invites "us to experience them with a tender and courageous gaze: one that cares, one that builds, one that loves, detail, loves."

Among this year's new features, we have special reasons to celebrate: the new giant group is now a reality and "filled our streets with music and tradition, with the drive of a generation that loves what's ours."
Another highlight is the inauguration of the extension to the Flor de Murta nursery school, "a step forward that symbolizes our commitment to families and to the education of the little ones, the future of the town."
"And just as expected, the Cossiers will move us once again, dancing as they have for so many years, weaving links between past and present, between memory and future," writes Fullana.
On the other hand, the mayor also highlights the concert by the Algaida Music Band and this year, in particular, "with great pride, we will host a special concert by Joan Valent, a musician and composer from Algaida who touches our souls with his melodies."
All in all, the mayor would like to thank the people and organizations that have made these festivities possible. In this regard, she mentions Civil Protection, associations, organizations, and individuals, and especially the municipal brigade, the Local Police, and other public employees: "Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for making these festivities possible.
