Calvià charges against the organization of the Peguera festivities for the artists' "obscene" lyrics
The City Council has expressed its opinion in this regard after Vox pointed out the artists through social media.

PalmThe Calvià City Council has charged against the action queer which took place last Saturday in Peguera as part of the town's festivities. Specifically, the City Council, governed by the PP and Vox parties, has published a statement on social media naming two members of the neighborhood association, Peguera es Mou and a councilor from the PSIB.
In the same statement, the City Council attacks the artists Baldo and Ojeras Hidratadas for allegedly having uttered and repeated "completely inappropriate" expressions in front of a family audience. "The City Council strongly condemns these statements and announces that both the Peguera es Mou organization and its representatives will be held accountable," they added. They also stated that they will take the "necessary" measures to ensure that a situation that should "never" have occurred does not happen again.
This is how the City Council expressed its opinion after the far-right party attacked the event's programming on social media. "The PSOE uses public money to impose its gender ideology on popular festivals," the party stated. "We at Vox Calvià will immediately announce stricter control and supervision criteria for all subsidies and festive activities. Patron saint festivals are not to be touched. Our children are not objects of ideological propaganda," they added to the statement.
For their part, they criticized the City Council for using its institutional channels to single out individuals. "We denounce the serious decision by the City Council to name three members of a civic organization without having spoken to them beforehand," they stated in a statement.
"A practice that we consider irresponsible, dangerous, and that could violate fundamental rights enshrined in current legislation," they added. In this regard, they considered that if the City Council believes an association has made a mistake, the appropriate course of action is dialogue, the search for solutions, and respect. "Using an official channel for ridicule and retaliation is crossing a red line that cannot be normalized," they said. Therefore, they have demanded the immediate withdrawal of the statement and a public rectification from the government team.
Local musician Baldo expressed a similar sentiment, explaining the situation in a video on his social media profile. He wondered if Calvià City Council hates him, as he believes the controversy generated by the event is the result of a "political battle" because "when the person singing obscenities is a heterosexual person performing reggaeton; they sing explicit lyrics, then it's not suitable for children and families," he noted. However, the artist stated that they will continue singing and performing. "We are citizens like everyone else and we have rights," he reasoned. Finally, he noted that the festival schedules are published in advance and everyone can consult them: "If you don't like it, don't go," he noted.
