PalmThe Civil Guard is investigating the death of British model and former footballer Jake Hall, 35, who was found dead on Wednesday in a tourist rental villa in Santa Margalida after a night of partying. The main hypothesis of the investigators points to an accident after the man hit himself against a glass door of the house.

The victim is known in the United Kingdom for having participated in the reality show The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE), in addition to his career as a model, fashion entrepreneur, and former football player. According to the BBC, Hall also had an artistic side and last month had presented his first sculpture in Mallorca.

According to information published by The Sun, officers found Hall with serious head injuries and surrounded by a pool of blood. Sources close to the investigation assure that the British man had spent the night partying, consuming alcohol and other substances, and that upon returning to the house with a group of friends, he began to get agitated.

According to this version, at one point his behavior “became aggressive” and he allegedly tried to self-harm by hitting himself against various objects until he impacted against a glass pane, which broke. The cuts and injuries caused by the glass fragments are believed to have caused his death.

Autopsy results

The events occurred in a holiday home located in Santa Margalida, north of Mallorca. Emergency services received the alert around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The Guardia Civil has questioned four men and two women who were staying with the victim, but for now, no arrests have been made.

A local resident explained to the newspaper Última Hora that during the early hours of the morning he heard very loud noises coming from the house. “It sounded like they were drilling something,” he recounted. He also stated that he had heard the occupants talking in English about the possibility of buying a property in the area.

Investigators are now awaiting the results of the autopsy and toxicological reports, which should determine the exact causes of death and confirm if Hall was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

A spokesperson for the British Foreign Office has confirmed to the BBC that UK authorities are providing support to the family of the British citizen who died in Spain and are in contact with the Spanish authorities.

Hours before his death, Hall had shared several images of his trip on Instagram and a message in which he stated: “Life is shit sometimes, but I will try to remember the good things”.
