Esquerra Unida criticizes the Calvià City Council's inaction: "It took them two years to deliver the 99 subsidized housing units in Santa Ponça."
Alfonso Rodríguez says that, in just over two years of government, "there has been no progress in social policies that improve the lives of the municipality's residents."

PalmThe coordinator of the United Left in Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez, stated this Wednesday that, in just over two years of government, "there has been no progress in social policies that improve the lives of residents in the municipality." Specifically, he highlighted the length of time it has taken to deliver the 99 social housing units in Santa Ponça. "It's been two years for a process that should have been completed in several months, and this delay has cost the successful bidders thousands of euros," he lamented.
According to Rodríguez, there is also not a single new proposal in the area of housing, "one of the issues that most concerns residents," and, as many people complained on social media, "rental subsidies have not been paid." "The Vox-PP government team, in an exercise of institutional neglect, has ceded the public urban land to Ibavi, a public company that is notable for its total inactivity," he criticized.
The coordinator also said that "many residents in the municipality have contacted IU to express their enormous anger at the lack of payment of the book aid", a year in which, according to some studies, "the cost of books and school supplies can exceed €800", which has prevented the start of the school year."
In addition, Rodríguez referred to the lack of initiatives by the current government team. "There has not been a single new action and they are surviving on the inheritance received from the previous government team," he said, before adding: "The inactivity worries the residents who see how the days go by, and the municipality sinks into a state of evident neglect, more dirt, more insecurity and not a single new initiative."
