A fateful night in Portocristo: two dead and four injured in a head-on collision.

PalmFatal night in PortocristoTwo men died and four other people were injured after two cars collided head-on. The traffic accident occurred this Sunday at 1:06 a.m. at kilometer nine of the Ma-4020 highway, reported SAMU 061.

Two cars, in circumstances that are currently unknown, collided head-on and one caught fire. Six people between 20 and 40 years old were in both vehicles. The Mallorca Fire Department had to extricate one of the occupants who was trapped inside the vehicle.

Six ambulances from the 112 Emergency Services were dispatched to the scene, which stabilized the six people involved and, after activating the incident code with multiple victims and multiple trauma, transferred them to the hospitals of Manacor, Llevant and They are Swords.

A few hours later, according to sources from the Civil Guard, two of the people who were on board one of the vehicles died in the hospital. They are two Spanish men aged 27 and 38, respectively. One of them was in the passenger seat and the other in the back seat.

Four other people involved in the accident are hospitalized, two in serious condition and two in minor condition.

Agents from the Traffic Group of the Civil Guard, which is handling the investigation, believes the head-on collision was caused by the vehicle, but there were no fatalities.

Officers from the Manacor Local Police and Civil Protection personnel also intervened in the incident.
