Frost and snow bring sub-zero temperatures to Mallorca during the early morning

PalmSeveral areas of Mallorca recorded frost during the night and early hours of Wednesday, with sub-zero temperatures in much of the interior of the island.
The lowest temperature was recorded in Escorca-Son Torrella, where thermometers registered -4 °C, according to data from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), and snow also arrived.
Negative temperatures have also been recorded in Escorca-Lluc, Campos and the Salinas de Levante, with -2 °C, in addition to Sineu, Manacor, Petra, Binissalem and sa Pobla, where the mercury has dropped to -1 °C.
Other parts of Mallorca did not exceed 0 °C during the night and early morning, such as Artà, Muro, the Alfàbia mountain range and Santa Maria, on a day marked by intense cold and winter conditions.
As for the rest of the Balearic Islands, the lowest minimum temperature in Menorca was recorded at the airport, at 5°C, while in Ibiza Town (Vila) the lowest was 1°C. Aemet (the Spanish State Meteorological Agency) is monitoring temperature developments in the coming hours, especially in inland and higher altitude areas, where the cold weather could continue to bring frost.
