IbizaThe Ibiza City Council will take the first step this Monday to create a new green zone between Els Llimoners and La Real. The municipal plenary session will vote on the initial approval of a modification to the General Urban Development Plan that will allow for the transformation of 3,273 square meters of municipal land into public open space.
The urban planning change will affect land located between the Abel Matutes boulevard and the Joan Marí Cardona park and will allow for its incorporation into the city's network of green spaces.
The proposal stems from a demand by residents of the area, who had requested that these lands be used for public purposes and not for other urban developments.
The Mayor of Ibiza, Rafael Triguero, has pointed out that the modification responds to this commitment to the neighborhood and that the goal is to consolidate a new green zone there. The measure must now undergo the corresponding urban planning process following the initial approval in the plenary session.
