Mallorca firefighters rescue an elderly man in Banyalbufar and a hiker in Alcúdia

PalmFirefighters in Mallorca evacuated a hiker by helicopter on Wednesday from Mount Sant Martí in Alcúdia, and an 85-year-old man with an ankle injury in Banyalbufar.

According to information provided by the Fire Department, firefighters from the Alcúdia station rescued a hiker who was having difficulty continuing his trail on Mount Alcúdia. Due to the complexity of safely evacuating him by land, the Milana helicopter was activated and carried out the transfer. Previously, firefighters from the Sóller station had responded to another rescue in Banyalbufar, where an 85-year-old man had suffered an ankle injury. The helicopter that was in the area also handled that evacuation.
