Migrants arriving by boat to the Peninsula will be able to sleep at a station in the port of Palma.
The measure came into effect this past Saturday.

PalmMigrants arriving in Mallorca by boat and bound for the Iberian Peninsula will be able to spend the night at Maritime Station Number 3 (EM3) in the Port of Palma. The measure came into effect this past Saturday, pursuant to the negotiations and agreements reached between the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands (APB) and the Spanish Government Delegation in the Balearic Islands to care for these individuals who are part of the asylum seeker protection program in Spain, the APB reported in a statement.
The Spanish Government Delegation has assumed the contracting of assistance to this group through the Red Cross, which includes the distribution of lunch and dinner, as well as monitoring their transfer. For its part, the APB already welcomed several people at the maritime station last weekend who arrived on the island in recent hours in precarious boats. The care service for these individuals in the Port of Palma is offered without affecting the normal functioning and operations of the Port of Palma, according to APB sources.
