The Balearic Children's Office denounces the promotion of bullfight tickets for minors.
The Franz Weber Foundation has recalled that the United Nations has already expressed its concern about the exposure of minors to acts of any form of violence, especially bullfighting.

PalmThe Franz Weber Foundation announced this Monday that it has filed a complaint with the Balearic Office for Children and Adolescents (OBIA) for the promotion of specific tickets for minors for the bullfight scheduled for Palma on August 7.
According to EFE, the organization has recalled that the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child has already expressed its concern about the exposure of minors to acts of any form of violence, and specifically singled out bullfighting in its recommendations in Spain.
The organization believes that offering tickets for 9 euros for children, even very young ones, to attend an event with explicit violence violates their fundamental rights. For this reason, it requests that the OBIA issue recommendations and reports expressing its rejection of this initiative, "due to its obvious effects on the rights of children and adolescents."
Likewise, the organization warns that there is no absolute right of families to limit the exposure of minors to certain activities. "Given the story of the lobby bullfighting and its appeal to freedom, in Spain there is a system of co-responsibility in education and care that empowers administrations to regulate access to shows based on the protection of vulnerable groups," he points out.
In this sense, he emphasizes that the recent legalization of minors' access to them guarantees respect for their rights. Furthermore, he recalls that international organizations such as the Committee on the Rights of the Child have criticized these measures not only in Spain, but also in other countries, such as Portugal.
