Palma hosts 'World Kitchens', a gastronomic route with 45 restaurants and 26 origins

Palma will launch this Wednesday, October 1st, the first edition of 'Cuisines of the World', a gastronomic initiative that for fifteen days will bring together 45 establishments in the city linked to 26 different gastronomic backgrounds. The proposal, promoted by the Palma City Council with the collaboration of the Balearic Islands Restaurant Business Federation (FERIB), can be enjoyed until October 15th.

The route will allow for the discovery of Asian, Latin American, European, Mediterranean, and other cuisines through dishes related to the recipes, ingredients, and traditions specific to each country. The Mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez, has defined the initiative as “a showcase of the gastronomic and cultural richness of Palma” and has highlighted that it allows for “highlighting the diversity that is part of the city’s identity through its recipes, its tastes, and its traditions.” The 45 participating establishments are spread across 23 neighborhoods of Palma, including Pere Garau, Foners, Santa Catalina, el Terreno, Can Pastilla, el Coll d’en Rabassa, el Camp Redó, l’Aranjassa, Cala Major, Cas Capiscol, Portopí, la Llotja, Sant Agustí, l’Arenal, and Son Armadans.

Menus at 25 euros

During the fifteen days of the route, the participating restaurants will offer a menu for 25 euros with dishes representative of their respective cuisines. The menu can be consumed at lunch, in the evening, or during both services, depending on the schedule and conditions of each establishment.

To participate in ‘Cuisines of the World’, no registration or ticket purchase will be necessary. Customers only need to choose one of the participating restaurants and request the route menu. The City Council recommends, however, booking in advance, especially during the weekends, given the forecast of higher demand. The initiative has the collaboration of Estrella Damm, Mallorca Delicia, Restauració CAEB, Taste Mallorca, and Fires i Festes.
