Palma will have double the ORA spaces starting from January 2027

PalmaThe blue zone in Palma will double its ORA parking spaces starting in January 2027, when the system will go from the current 12,000 to about 24,000. The expansion will reach new neighborhoods in the city and will come into operation on January 1st. Residents of the streets that are being incorporated will be able to start requesting the virtual badge this Wednesday, September 16th.

This was announced by the Deputy Mayor for Mobility, Toni Deudero, during the presentation of the new ORA image and the information campaign for the expansion. As he explained, the measure responds to a request from residents and aims to "favor vehicle rotation and facilitate the availability of parking spaces for residents, businesses, errands, and visits."

Affected neighborhoods

The new zones will affect the neighborhoods of Foners, Pere Garau Est, Son Fortesa Sud, Els Hostalets, Son Oliva, Plaça de Toros, Camp Redó, and certain streets in Bons Aires. Not all streets in these neighborhoods will be included, which is why the City Council recommends checking the enabled search engine beforehand to verify if your address is part of the expansion. Only residents of the streets included in the new zones will need to apply for the new permit.

The resident permit will be virtual and verification will be done automatically via the license plate, without the need to place any sticker on the vehicle. The fee will be 24 euros per year, and to process it, you must be registered as a resident in the corresponding zone and present the required documentation, which includes your ID (DNI or NIE), vehicle registration certificate, and driver's license.

Online application

The application can be made online through mobipalma.mobi or in person at the offices of SMAP, by appointment. The City Council plans to reinforce assistance during the processing period with up to 20 additional people if necessary.

Residents who already have an ORA badge will not need to carry out any extraordinary procedure: the renewal will be done, as every year, during the month of November. On the other hand, new residents affected by the expansion will have to process the badge starting from September 16. Drivers who are not residents must continue to use the mobiAPParc application or parking meters to park.

Image renewal

The City Council has also announced a renewal of the ORA image, which will be progressively applied to parking meters, machine screens, digital supports, and service information materials.
