PalmaThe Santa Eulària des Riu City Council is processing 16 sanctioning files for infringements in matters of activities, urban planning, and waste management, totaling 85,334 euros. As reported this Saturday by the Consistory, the files affect both individuals and singular producers, meaning establishments that generate more than 200 liters of waste per day, and were initiated following municipal inspections carried out in various parts of the municipality.
Regarding activities, the City Council has opened several files against singular producers in Santa Eulària and El Canar for lack of necessary authorizations, deficiencies in safety matters, incomplete documentation, and unauthorized uses.
The highest sanction in this area is 14,850 euros and corresponds to an establishment on Carrer d'Osca, in Santa Eulària, where inspectors detected, among other irregularities, the absence of mandatory insurance, deficiencies in the electrical panel, extinguishers without revision and regulatory location, and the use of a space intended for storage as a living area.
Another singular producer on Carrer del Sol will have to face a fine of 9,900 euros for using a rear outdoor area as storage without the corresponding enabling title and for not having revised the extinguishers. In addition, the Consistory has imposed two sanctions of 6,600 euros: one on an establishment on Avinguda de Punta Arabí, in El Canar, for having expanded its activity with food preparation without authorization, and another on a premises on Carrer de Mariano Riquer Wallis for playing music without having the pertinent license.
In urban planning matters, the highest sanction is 37,315 euros and affects a dwelling located in the Arabí de Dalt area, where a change of use from residential to tourist was confirmed. According to the City Council, the property was marketed through a digital platform during the summer season and, for this reason, the allegations presented by the owners have been dismissed.
Also in urban planning matters, the Consistory is processing a file against old facilities located in Santa Gertrudis, with a sanction of 9,468 euros for actions and uses not covered by current regulations. In parallel, the procedure to restore the altered physical reality continues.
