PalmaThe Nursing union Satse has demanded this Thursday from the Minister of Health, Manuela García, the immediate dismissal of the managing director of the Son Espases University Hospital, Cristina Granados, following the resignation of the Nursing director, Natalia Vallés. The union considers that the situation in the management of the Balearic Islands' reference hospital is "unsustainable" and maintains that Vallés' departure adds to the succession of resignations and dismissals in executive positions at the center.

Satse has linked the resignation of the Nursing director to a period of "enormous care pressure" and to the complaints that the organization has made over the last few months regarding the shortage of nurses and the workload. The union has acknowledged the work carried out by Vallés and has assured that during her time in the position she has had to face situations in which the management "has ignored her criteria" in decisions related directly to patient care.

"Instability situation"

"This resignation evidences, once again, the situation of instability that exists at Son Espases", the organization has pointed out. Satse has recalled that during Granados's tenure, the Director of Management and General Services, Alfonso Macías, his successor, José Antonio Visedo, and the head of Communication, Sabrina Vidal.

This very Thursday, Vallés informed of his resignation after two and a half years in the position in order to be able to move with his family to his hometown, Alicante.
