The Castellers of Mallorca celebrate their 25th anniversary in Palma
The celebration began in the Plaza de Espanya and ended at the Baluarte del Príncipe.
PalmThe Castellers de Mallorca celebrated their 25th day this Saturday in Palma. Also participating were the Al·lots de Llevant from Manacor and the Castellers de Cerdanyola del Vallès as a guest group.
The day began with a parade from Plaza de España to Cort, passing through Sant Miquel Street, with music from the xeremiers (the "xeremiers"). In Cort, three rounds of a castle were carried out by each group, and three pillars were set off.
As the host group, they made a pillar under the balcony of the Town Hall, where they symbolically offered the enxaneta (the tower's enxaneta) to the balcony. That is, they lowered a sash from the balcony, took the enxaneta, and raised it to the balcony. After the day, the participants went to the Baluarte del Príncipe (Basque of the Prince) to recharge their batteries and end the day with a brass band.
