The heat soars in the Balearic Islands: up to 38 degrees after muddy rainfall
Friday temperatures will continue to rise due to the arrival of a warm air mass from North Africa
PalmaThe Balearic Islands will reach maximum temperatures that could approach 38 degrees in a week in which dry thunderstorms are also likely to occur, leaving mud precipitation, according to the forecast from the State Meteorological Agency. The week begins this Monday with a cold air front that could lead to a trough and some dry thunderstorms, with precipitation, albeit weak, in the form of mud.
This afternoon the sky will clear, while maximum temperatures will range between 27°C and 33°C, explained to Europa Press the Aemet delegate in the Balearic Islands, María José Guerrero. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the weather is expected to stabilize and a high-level ridge will lead to mostly clear or clear skies.
Temperatures will rise slightly, with lows between 16°C and 21°C and highs between 27°C and 34°C. On Wednesday, occasionally, 36°C could be recorded.
On Thursday, disruptions will occur again due to another cold air pocket that will leave, starting in the Pitiusas, mid and high clouds that could cause new mud precipitation. The east winds will be accompanied by a new, albeit slight, rise in temperatures, which will be between 18 and 23°C for the lows, and 28°C and 36°C for the highs.
On Friday, the sky will be mostly clear and temperatures will continue to rise due to the arrival of a warm air mass from North Africa. On the weekend, it could reach 38°C, temperatures that would likely involve activating the heat warning. From next Monday, however, they will soften again.
