PalmThe Amic Horizonte Hotel in Palma, where the ten National Police officers who were transferred to Mallorca from Valencia were staying until Monday, did not evict them for being unable to pay for their stay, according to the hotel and the Jupol union. "It is absolutely false that any National Police officers have been evicted from our establishment. No officer has been evicted or forced to leave our facilities," the hotel explained in a statement, blaming Jupol for spreading the misinformation.

For its part, the majority union of the National Police, which on Monday stated that the officers were "literally evicted from the hotel" for having insufficient advance payments, clarified on Tuesday: "Under no circumstances did the hotel where our colleagues were staying in Palma" evict the officers.

"The officers were forced to leave the accommodation because they could no longer afford to pay the hotel expenses out of pocket," Jupol added in a new statement, in which it expressed its gratitude for the accommodation's "welcoming attitude, respect, and exquisite service."

For its part, the hotel criticized the union for basing its "legitimate demand" on "fabricated facts" that damaged its reputation. According to the establishment, the images released by Jupol of police officers leaving the hotel with suitcases "do not reflect any real event, but rather correspond to a pre-arranged scene while the officers were staying at the hotel."

"The Hotel Amic Horizonte bears no responsibility for the administrative situation affecting these professionals and deeply regrets that its name, image, and facade have been used without consent and in a manipulated manner for purposes unrelated to its activity," it concludes in the statement.

Previously, the Hotel Business Federation of Mallorca (FEHM) had already stated that no hotel had evicted any officer from the Police Intervention Unit (UIP), the riot police deployed to the island. It has also been reported that a member establishment of the Peguera and Cala Fornells Hotel Association has offered to accommodate the ten agents.

"The payment was agreed upon in May and has been processed according to procedure."

Furthermore, National Police sources deny that the affected officers are directly assigned to the security of the Royal Household and claim to have other assignments.

According to these same sources, the payment of the allowances has been agreed upon since May and has always been carried out according to standard procedure. The advance represents 80% of the assigned amount, and once the service commission ends, the invoices must be submitted and the final accounts are adjusted.

They emphasize that of the total of 33 officers initially deployed to Mallorca, 24 have not had any problems with the accommodation conditions or the payment of their allowances. This system is regulated by the General State Administration and varies depending on the professional group of each officer.

The sources consulted indicate that the National Police's payroll has sufficient funds and that the payment problem was resolved weeks ago.
