The hypocrisy of Mallorcans: "I don't want tourists, but I'll sell the house to a German because he pays more."

PalmLife is full of contradictions and hypocritical behavior, and Mallorca has no shortage of them. Instagram user @mallorquinspelmon2025 has posted a video on social media in which he reviews the top five hypocritical behaviors of the island's residents. Among them are two of the most controversial issues that cause the greatest concern among Mallorcans: housing problems (with foreigners purchasing properties) and tourism.

The first example of hypocrisy he mentions, number 5 in the ranking compiled by the content creator, is that of the racist Mallorcan. "It's that person who complains that the Moors have invaded us, but then goes to get their hair cut at a North African barbershop because it's cheaper." The second example he mentions also relates to discrimination based on origin. In this case, humorously, he attacks those who "swear at foresters and consider them second-class Mallorcans, but forget that their father is from Seville and their mother is from a town in Jaén." Number three in the ranking is the person who criticizes that "Mallorca is now German territory." In this case, the content creator says that many of these Mallorcans who criticize that foreigners are "buying Mallorca" don't remember that they themselves sold a house to a German because the Mallorcan paid 150,000 and the German, 400,000.

The top two hypocritical behaviors of Mallorcans are for those who complain about Mallorca's roads being clogged with cars, but then "are unable to take public transport." "When they are told to take the train, which passes by their house and takes them to the same place they would go by car, they start with excuses: it's too crowded, it's late...".

The last, and, for the content creator, the most repeated and important hypocritical behavior of the Mallorcans, has to do with tourism. In this case, it refers to those people who cry out against overcrowding, attend and actively participate in all the rallies against tourism, but then "they have houses and they use them as houses and they use them. "There are people who have inherited seven houses and they dedicate six of them to tourist rentals, and they don't dedicate the seventh to it because they have to live somewhere. These same people, then are at the front line of the demonstrations calling 'Stop Tourism'".

All in all, the content creator tries to use humor to be a mirror for those people who criticize everything they contribute to or are neither realistic nor consistent with their actions. ~BK_SLT_L
