Justice declares null the position of Deputy Inspector of the Calvià Police
The court has fully upheld the claim filed and has annulled the temporary provision of the job
PalmaThe Administrative Litigation Court number 3 of Palma has ruled in favor of UGT and declared null the appointment for job improvement of the Calvià Police sub-inspector published on April 11, 2025. As reported by the union, the court has fully upheld the lawsuit filed by UGT Serveis Púbrics and has annulled the temporary provision of this position, ruling that it was carried out through a process that violated current legislation.
The union had already shown its disagreement at the general negotiation table of the Calvià City Council on March 20, 2025, and in other previous meetings, where the Administration approved the bases for the commission of services competition without the consensus of the social party.
UGT Serveis Púbrics has explained that it warned the City Council that its proposal ignored the specific regulations relating to the Local Police and irregularly allowed a promotion made incorrectly. Although an appeal can be filed against this judicial decision, the union is confident that the City Council will not continue with the process "given the clarity and forcefulness of the legal grounds contained in the ruling".
Therefore, it has appealed to the institutional responsibility of the City Council to avoid "both unnecessary public spending and the damage derived from patrimonial responsibility towards the affected persons".
