The Pollença Festival offers two Chopin piano concertos in a single evening.
The event will take place this Saturday, August 23rd

PalmRenowned pianist Iván Martín will pay tribute to Frédéric Chopin this Saturday, August 23, in the sixth concert of the 2025 Pollença Festival. On this occasion, the Canarian musician, accompanied by the Galdós Ensemble, will perform a single version of the Polish composer's two piano concertos.
The festival audience will be transported to the evening of March 14, 1832, when, according to references in the diary of composer Clara Wieck, the concerto in E minor adapted by byte was performed.
These chamber versions of Chopin's piano concertos further convey the sensitivity and sublime, delicate passion of these monumental works. It's also worth noting the difficulty of hearing these two concertos in a single performance, which represents a test of strength and emotion for the performers.
Iván Martín is one of the most distinguished pianists and conductors of his generation. He has appeared with major international orchestras and in venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Berliner Philharmonie. He regularly conducts Spanish and European ensembles and has premiered works by contemporary composers. He is currently the principal conductor of the Burgos Symphony Orchestra and artistic director in Medellín.
The Galdós Ensemble, founded by Iván Martín, is a Spanish and internationally renowned ensemble dedicated to music for small orchestras. Their repertoire ranges from Baroque to the present. They are noted for their versatile and rigorous approach, as well as for their innovative offerings, such as The Telephone Menotti's and Chinitas Coffee.
Tickets are still available and can be purchased on the festival's official website (www.festivalpollenca.com) or at the cloister office in Sant Domingo (Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and on concert days, from 8:30 p.m. to 9:55 p.m.).
The Pollença Festival program will continue on Tuesday, August 26, with a charity concert. The Valencian wind group Spanish Brass will kick off the final week of the festival.
