Mallorcan Reyes Rigo reaches an agreement with the Israeli Prosecutor's Office to be deported to Spain.
She was arrested on October 1 while traveling aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla carrying aid for Gaza.

PalmMallorcan activist Reyes Rigo has reached an agreement with the Prosecutor's Office of the Negev region to be deported to Spain. The Spanish consulate informed Rigo's brother of this this Friday, explained Unides Podem councilor at Palma City Hall, Lucía Muñoz, who traveled to the Flotilla with the activist detained in Israel.
Rigo's family is now waiting to contact her lawyer and pay the fine, which would be just over 2,500 euros, so that the activist can be deported to Spain.
Initially, the Prosecutor's Office of the Negev region has filed charges against Mallorcan activist Reyes Rigo, who was arrested on October 1 while traveling aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla with aid for Loop, and has requested that he be remanded in custody, the Israeli Police reported on Friday.
"The Negev Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment and a request for pretrial detention against a Spanish citizen this Friday morning for assaulting a guard at the Ketziot prison," the police said in a statement Friday. Rigo is the only one of the 49 Spaniards who were on this first flotilla who remains in Israeli custody..
Specifically, according to police, he is accused of refusing to enter a cell and attacking a female guard at Keziot prison by biting her hand, causing injuries. The incident reportedly occurred last Sunday.
"The Israeli Police will take strong action against any attempt to damage government symbols and public officials, and will bring those involved to justice," the statement added.
According to the Israeli mediamako.co.il, during the interrogation Rigo stated: "The guards attacked me. I defended myself. They beat me. They dragged me with force. I had no other choice."
Rigo's detention in Israel had been extended by the court in Beersheba until this Friday, so it is not clear whether, following this request for preventive detention, she will be released or not.
On the other hand, in the next few hours some of the eight Spaniards who were traveling aboard the second flotilla that was intercepted by Israel in international waters early Wednesday morning could be released and expelled from Israel, according to Rumbo a Gaza, one of the organizers of the initiative.
Lucía Muñoz will donate her salary to help pay the fine
Podemos councilor at Palma City Council, Lucía Muñoz, has announced that she will offer this month's salary to pay the fine imposed on Reyes Rigo. After learning of her release, Muñoz stated that she is experiencing a mixture of relief and profound indignation. In a statement, they explained that "Reyes Rigo was forced to plead guilty to unjust accusations" and stated that until they know she has left Israel, "we will not be at peace."
