They sentence to seven years in prison the man who killed his wife in Coll d'en Rabassa two years ago
The sentence collects an episode that occurred in November 2024, weeks before the woman's murder, when the man threatened to kill her
PalmaA criminal court in Palma has sentenced to seven years in prison the man accused of the death of his wife in Coll de'n Rabassa in late 2024 for having mistreated her for years.
The sentence considers it proven that the man imposed on the victim "a situation of domination based on the abusive exercise of his authority and the submission generated by his acts of physical and psychological violence on a frequent basis, constantly demeaning her".
The Court also points out that "for any reason he controlled the people he met her with, humiliating her daily by spitting in her face, forcing her to ask for money that the accused spent on gambling, even going so far as to physically assault the victim with blows, kicks, shoves, and hair pulling". The mistreatment and vexations occurred from the beginning of the relationship, in 2009. The sentence records an episode that occurred on November 1, 2024, weeks before the woman's murder, when the man, in the presence of his daughter, a minor, threatened the woman by telling her "I will go to jail but I will kill you".
At that moment, the accused assaulted the victim, hitting her with a punch to the back and kicks to the legs. A court in Palma issued a protection order as well as the placement of a telematic control device on the accused. Despite everything, Rosario was murdered shortly after, on December 9, 2024. "Rosario was controlled in all spheres of her life, even having to ask the aggressor for permission for daily acts such as going to the bathroom, which daily diminished her integrity and dignity, and she also had to hide money to be able to feed her daughters. This caused an atmosphere of terror and domination in the house", concludes the sentence.
