Hércules, without tickets for their match with UE Ibiza: "Do you know what Ibiza is like in the summer?"
Hercules cannot travel to the Balearic Islands and the Ibizan club asks to postpone the match.
PalmNo tickets for the match. UE Ibiza could be without an opponent in two weekends due to tourist overcrowding. Coach Paco Jémez denounced in a press conference that Hércules de Alicante has been unable to secure plane tickets or accommodation to travel to the Balearic Islands, where the match was to be played.
"It's what's happening to Hércules, they don't have tickets to come. Do you know what Ibiza is like in the summer? You tell them eight days before they have to play on Sunday, and now you have to find tickets and a hotel... it's impossible," lamented Jémez.
According to the coach, the situation is not a one-off but a recurring problem for many teams, UE Ibiza being the first, who must travel to the islands during the peak season. "We have this problem every week," he said.
The Ibizan club has requested a change of date for the match and is calling on the Federation to show more empathy and foresight in the face of the logistical difficulties caused by the saturation of tourism and transport in the Balearic Islands. This year, the Balearic Islands received 6.4 million tourists between January and June 2025, representing a 4.1% increase compared to the first half of 2024, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
In June alone, there were nearly 2.3 million international tourists, 3% more than the same month last year. The total number for June was 2.7 million visitors (data from Ibestat), 2.3% more than in 2024.
