BinissalemPalma and Binissalem will host this week "Lux in Tenebris", a contemporary mass for three female voices and ney flute built from verses of the "Llibre d'Amic e Amat" by Ramon Llull. The proposal combines these texts with poetry by Rumi and Yunus Emre and fragments of the Bible.
The performance will be given by the Norwegian ensemble Trio Mediæval, Grammy-nominated and specialized in early music, together with the Greek composer Christos Barbas, responsible for the work and performer of the ney. The composition blends Gregorian chant and European medieval music with mystical and Sufi traditions from the Middle East.
The first performance will be on Tuesday, November 10, at 7:30 p.m., at the parish church of Santa Creu in Palma. The following day, Wednesday the 11th, the proposal will arrive at the parish church of Santa Maria de Robines in Binissalem. The concert in Palma is free with prior reservation and limited spots.
