Teachers in the Balearic Islands are among the best paid in the country
According to a UGT report, the starting salaries of teachers in the islands are only surpassed by the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla and the Basque Country.

Teachers in the Balearic Islands are the fourth highest paid in the entire country, with gross monthly salaries of €2,653.27 for those in Mallorca and €2,671.06 for those in the other islands, only behind the Canary Islands (€2,986), Ceuta and Melilla (€2,960), and the EU. This is according to a study published this Tuesday by the UGT union, which compiles the starting salaries received by teachers in each autonomous community and shows differences of up to €550 for primary school teachers, €680 for secondary school teachers, and €800 for vocational training teachers. In this context, in the Balearic Islands, teachers earn €2,653.27 in Mallorca and €2,671.06 in the other islands, just ahead of Cantabria (€2,627) and Castilla-La Mancha (€2,594). Meanwhile, the lowest-paid teachers in Spain are those in Asturias (€2,312), Aragon (€2,382), and Catalonia (€2,399). Also in Secondary Education
In secondary education, teachers earn €2,987.05 in Mallorca and €2,998.91 in the other islands, behind Ceuta and Melilla (€3,538.78), the Basque Country (€3,309.09), and the non-capital islands of the Canary Islands (€3,305.67). The three regions with the lowest salaries are Asturias (€2,626.12), Aragon (€2,703.61), and Catalonia (€2,727.08). Regarding vocational training, teachers in Mallorca earn €2,784.98 and those in the other islands €2,802.77, behind the Basque Country (€3,257.65), Ceuta and Melilla (€3,090.20), and the non-capital islands of the Canary Islands (€3).
