Workers at indirectly managed daycare centers will receive a salary increase of up to 58%.

The agreement between unions and employers includes a professional category, mentoring and training supplement.

PalmThe Ministry of Education and Universities and the UGT and CCOO unions have signed an agreement to improve the working conditions of female employees at indirectly managed preschools for children aged 0 to 3 in the Balearic Islands. This agreement creates a regional economic supplement that will entail a direct salary increase of between €200 and €460 per month, depending on the category.

The increase represents up to a 38% improvement over current salaries, and within the framework of the new bids and with the application of the salary tables of the XIII Collective Agreement for Child Care and Education Centers, the salary increase could reach 58%. The increases, one by one, could range from €1,200 per month to €1,892 per month.

The agreed financial supplements are as follows:

  1. Supplement by professional category: a. teachers: €400/month; educators: €300/month; other categories: €200/month.
  2. Tutoring supplement: €60/month.
  3. Training supplement: €100/month.

"This agreement represents a milestone in the recognition of the 0-3 stage and positions the Balearic Islands as a benchmark for improving working conditions in early childhood education for children from 0 to 3 years old," the UGT union said in a statement.
