PalmaThe coordinator of MÉS per Mallorca, Lluís Apesteguia, expressed satisfaction this Monday at having finally included Podemos in the Ara Més-Front Ampli coalition. The leader of Podemos in the Islands, Lucía Muñoz, will go as number three on the lists, as an independent. "I love it when a plan comes together," said the eco-sovereigntist. In response to the call for a useful vote for larger parties, he sent a message to the left-wing electorate: "We are presenting a ballot with the security of obtaining representation and the capacity to influence state policy."

The purple party could not join the coalition due to the difficulties in negotiations between the Broad Front and Podemos in Madrid. Nevertheless, Ara Més maintained that it would try to include the formation in its lists by offering a position to Muñoz, the only possible option once the coalition was formalized before the Central Electoral Board (JEC). "It was necessary for us to form a joint candidacy of all the sovereignist and alternative left-wing forces," argued Apesteguia, who highlighted the discretion of the negotiations between the parties in the Islands, different from the infighting of the left in other parts of the State. The one in the Islands has been the last pact that Podemos has reached with the left for these general elections.

The eco-sovereignists already took for granted that they would obtain at least one seat in Congress. The threshold is between 40,000 and 50,000 votes, and in 2023 they obtained more than 83,000. All in all, with Podemos in the equation, the results of the left will be maximized. The ballot, said Apesteguia, "represents all the voters of the sovereignist and transformative left who see these elections as a moment of hope and enthusiasm, not only to stand up to the right and the far-right, but to transform things for the benefit of the citizens of the Balearic Islands and improve workers' rights, democracy, and public services."
