Some mayors present flowerpots

PalmaOne thinks that, after years of writing about nonsense regarding the territory, one knows something about urban planning. Well, no. It turns out that, after waiting half a lifetime for limits on tourist capacity, after following the debate on how the Government and the island councils could lower the pressure of visitors that is drowning the Islands and the islanders, the matter is much simpler.
It has been done, and I hope patented, by the Art脿 City Council, which was already a pioneer in the preservation of the coastline thanks back then to the party of the independents, while neighbors like Capdepera, Santa Margalida, and Muro were shredding and cementing the coast.
Now, this City Council has known how to find the way not to wait any longer and take action, after its inhabitants made the mayor see that, for example, one can no longer even walk through the weekly market, which is a true swarm of tourists whatever the week of the year.
The people of Art脿 have taken an instrument made by the Council, the PIAT, a plan to organize tourism in each municipality, and have decided to reduce the places. They have not only eliminated the possibility of growing. They will also remove a part of what already exists (which, by the way, is 2,000 legal places on rustic land!). Thus, when some are deregistered, others will not be able to be registered, until reaching the new limit.
This is degrowth. Doing the work, gathering courage, if one has it, and getting to it. The rest is chatter. Social media and the statements of supposedly progressive city councils, those that are supposed to be more aligned with degrowth, show a desolate panorama. The priority of mayors and councilors is to present even a flowerpot as a milestone. Comedy. Meanwhile, the blame for touristification lies with others.
