PalmaDeputy Javier Ripoll has been appointed as a Vox deputy in Parliament following the death of parliamentarian María José Verdú last week due to a long illness. The Balearic Electoral Board communicated Ripoll's appointment five days ago, and this Tuesday he took the oath of office at the beginning of the Parliament plenary session.

Ripoll was number nine on the Vox list for Mallorca in Parliament in 2023, and is currently a member of the IB3 board of directors. According to his LinkedIn page, Ripoll was a reservist in the Spanish Navy with the rank of sergeant. Outside the army, he worked as a commercial and sales manager.

The President of the Parliament, Gabriel Le Senne, has called him to the rostrum, where he has sworn the oath of office. With elections just around the corner, for now, Ripoll has approximately half a year of his term ahead. Beforehand, the Chamber held a minute of silence in memory of the Mallorcan Mari Carmen García, a native of Inca, who died in the railway accident that occurred on October 28 in Urda, Toledo, and the other 68 fatalities of the disaster.
