PalmaVox deputy in the Parliament of the Balearic Islands María José Verdú passed away this Friday afternoon at 58 years of age as a consequence of a long illness, according to sources from the parliamentary group who confirmed this to Europa Press.
Born in Palma in 1968, she combined her work in the Parliament with her role as a Vox councilor in the Bunyola City Council. In Parliament, she chaired the Health Commission and had also served as deputy spokesperson for the parliamentary group.

Since 2025, she was part of the provincial executive committee of Vox in the Balearic Islands as head of management and treasury. The president of the Parliament and of Vox in the Balearic Islands, Gabriel Le Senne, lamented the loss and stated that Verdú gave "the best of herself, with a dedication and honesty that will never be forgotten".
