Active cases in the VioGen system decreased by approximately 4% in the Balearic Islands during October

PalmThe Ministry of the Interior reported a total of 4,134 active cases in the VioGen System in the Balearic Islands at the end of October, a decrease of approximately 3.7% compared to the previous month. These are some of the figures released in the latest monthly report on the system for protecting victims of gender-based violence. Regarding supervised cases, these decreased by 16, from 494 in September to 478 in October; while inactive cases increased by more than 300, from 34,201 to 34,533. As for risk level, low-risk cases decreased by 140 (from 3,497 to 3,357) and medium-risk cases by 23 (from 757 in September to 734 in October). However, high-risk cases increased by two (from 41 to 43). The age group with the most active cases is women aged 31 to 45, with 1,943 (a decrease of almost 100), followed by the 18-30 age group (36 fewer cases) and the 46-64 age group (23 fewer). Active cases among minors remain unchanged at 62, but inactive cases have increased by eight (from 61 to 69). Within this category, low-risk cases have decreased (by four), medium-risk cases have increased (by five), and high-risk cases have disappeared (previously there was one). Another noteworthy statistic is that of the more than 4,100 active cases in the Balearic Islands in October, 1,988 involved victims with dependent children (almost 48.1% of the total), which is 88 fewer than the previous month.

Across the country, the Ministry of the Interior has detected a total of 104,770 active cases of gender-based violence in the VioGen System as of October 31st, 739 fewer than those registered up to September 30th (a 0.2% decrease), but four more at the extreme risk level (ages 19 to 23). Specifically, they indicate that, as of October 31st of this year, there are a total of 104,770 active cases of gender-based violence, of which 23 are at extreme risk; 988 at high risk; 14,753 at medium risk; and 89,006 at low risk. Regarding the ages of the victims in the active cases, the Ministry of the Interior reports that there are 1,358 women under 18 years of age; 26,081 between 18 and 30; 48,546 aged 31 to 45; 26,271 aged 46 to 64; and 2,514 aged 65 or older.
