Binissalem registers the second highest temperature in the State with 40 degrees
Llucmajor, Santa Maria del Camí and Porreres also brush 40 degrees on a day marked by intense heat in the Balearic Islands, according to Aemet
PalmaBinissalem registered this Friday the second highest temperature in the entire State, reaching 40 degreesat 1:50 PM, according to the latest data from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
The highest temperature was reached in Cieza (Murcia), where the thermometer registered 40.3 degrees at 3:00 PM. The Balearic Islands have concentrated several of the highest maximums of the day. In Llucmajor, 39.3 degrees were recorded at 1:20 PM; in Santa Maria del Camí, 39.2 degrees at 1:30 PM, and in Porreres, 39.1 degrees at 2:30 PM.
The intense heat episode has also affected other points in the State. In Catalonia, in Vilafranca del Penedès, 39 degrees were reached at 2:10 PM. Alcanyís (Teruel) and Coín (Málaga) shared a maximum temperature of 38.9 degrees, recorded at 1:50 PM and 3:50 PM, respectively. The high temperatures are part of the heat episode that has affected a large part of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands during this day.
