PalmThe Anti-Racist Assembly of Mallorca took to the streets this Sunday, October 12th, to denounce "the constant attacks against the migrant and racialized population" and demand a "truly just and diverse" society.

The collective pointed out that the causes of migration are rooted in "imperialism, colonialism, and the plundering of the peoples of the Global South" and demanded the right to migrate and live with dignity in Mallorca.

The assembly demanded regulation of the more than 500,000 people living in Spain without papers, denounced "the borders that kill," and blamed European policies for turning the Mediterranean into "a mass grave."

It also called on the media and institutions to take responsibility for preventing hate speech and defended a "plural and diverse Mallorcan identity," with names like "Fátima, Mamadou, or Wang Li."

"Saying you're not racist isn't enough: you have to be anti-racist," the organizers conclude, reaffirming the collective's commitment to feminist, decolonial, and class struggles.
