PalmThe Palma Local Police are investigating two members of an unemployment agency for allegedly threatening and coercing residents of a building in the Son Cladera neighborhood. The incident, according to the municipal police, occurred last Friday afternoon when they received a call on 092 from several residents who were being intimidated by people not from the building. Upon arrival, officers from the Local Police's Immediate Intervention Unit (UII) identified the two suspects, who stated they worked for an unemployment agency. The individuals, aged 47 and 35, went to the building's school to question residents about where they were coming from and going to, with the aim of identifying the occupants of a specific apartment. One of the residents stated that one of them verbally threatened her. Although the two suspects claimed they had authorization from the community to conduct identification checks, the neighbors denied this. Upon being warned of the potential criminal consequences of their actions, the two men left the scene. The Local Police submitted the report to an investigating court in Palma and forwarded the case to the National Police.
