PalmA mother and her two young children have been evicted from a home in Son Forteza Sur, Palma, which they had recently rented. According to the Stop Evictions platform, the family was allegedly the victim of a scam, as the apartment was rented to them after it had been acquired by an investment group.

According to the association, the eviction was carried out at the request of the investors who purchased the home. The affected family had recently rented the home, so they filed a petition in court to try to avoid eviction. However, the court apparently did not suspend the eviction because the family had not yet filed a criminal complaint against the alleged fraudster who rented the house to them.

The judicial commission was scheduled to arrive at the property this Friday to carry out the eviction at 11:00 a.m. However, shortly before 10:00 a.m., and after the affected mother learned of a place to move tomorrow morning, the family left the house. From that moment on, the neighborhood meetings were no longer held, and Stop Desahucios Mallorca met with a group of unemployed people, with whom they exchanged views.

Stop Desahucios Mallorca has criticized the unemployed for trying to sell the new owners as "losers," explaining that "they are investors and are not buying the house to live in, but to speculate." After the family was finally evicted, the organization noted that this launch concludes the story of a blog that once belonged to several banks, vulture funds, and even Sareb, because all the homes that belonged to large holders have been gradually sold.
