Provisional prison for the driver who caused a fatal accident in Palma and fled

PalmThe on-duty judge has ordered the detainee to be remanded in custody in connection with the traffic accident that occurred last Monday near the town of Son Banya in Palma, where a 31-year-old man died.

The detainee was brought before a court on Wednesday, and the presiding judge of Palma's Investigative Court No. 8 ordered him remanded in custody, according to the High Court of Justice of the Balearic Islands.

It should be noted that the accident that killed the 31-year-old man occurred early Monday morning on the road to Son Banya, near the Mercapalma roundabout. The vehicle the detainee was driving fled the scene.

Shortly after, the local police located one of the vehicle's occupants, who was injured, in El Molinar. The driver was identified immediately, but a day later he turned himself in to a local police station in Palma.
