Provisional prison for the young man arrested for running over singer Jaume Anglada

PalmA judge has ordered provisional imprisonment for the young man arrested for run over the Mallorcan singer Jaume Anglada Early Friday morning in Palma. The defendant was brought before a court around 5:20 p.m., and it wasn't until after 9:00 p.m. that the judge on duty at the German Highway Court ordered his imprisonment.

The detainee acknowledged the facts and is committed to supporting civil liability, according to Europa Press. He also expressed regret and apologized in his statement.
The facts
The accident occurred at around 1:30 a.m. this Friday at number 330 on Avenida Joan Miró in Palma, near Cala Major. Initial investigations suggest that the vehicle hit the motorcycle Anglada was riding and left the scene, leaving him seriously injured.
Due to his extremely serious injuries, the singer was immediately evacuated to Son Espases Hospital, where he is in the ICU awaiting further developments.
The young man, who had a blood alcohol level of 0.60 mg/l (three times the legal limit), was arrested shortly after the incident thanks to the assistance of several witnesses, who noted the license plate number as the car fled the scene.
