The murderer of the young man stabbed in Son Gotleu is a minor

PalmaThe National Police have arrested a minor as the alleged perpetrator of the stabbing that ended the life of a 19-year-old youth on Sunday evening in Son Gotleu, in Palma. The victim died hours later at the hospital due to the severity of the wounds.

The events took place around 10:50 PM on Indalecio Prieto street. Several calls to 091 alerted that a young man had been stabbed and was lying on the ground with an open, bleeding wound to his chest. When the patrols arrived at the scene, they found a crowd around the victim. A citizen was providing first aid and pressing the wound with a t-shirt to try to stop the bleeding.

An ambulance transported the young man, who was in a very serious condition, to a hospital center. The paramedics performed resuscitation maneuvers, and once stabilized, he was admitted. Finally, he died hours later.

According to the police investigation, before the assault, there had been an argument between the victim and the alleged perpetrator that ended in a fight in a nearby alley. During the confrontation, the young man allegedly stabbed the victim in the chest and then fled the scene.

Located in a park

After collecting the testimonies of those present, several patrols carried out raids in the area to try to locate the alleged aggressor and the weapon used. At that moment, they did not find either the suspect or any object that could have been used in the assault.

Hours later, already almost at one in the morning, a patrol located a young man in Orson Welles Park who matched the description provided by the witnesses. According to the National Police, he was agitated and trembling, and the officers proceeded to arrest him as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of homicide.

The detainee was undocumented and, during subsequent investigations, the officers verified that he was a minor. The National Police homicide group took charge of the investigation and took statements from the witnesses to clarify the circumstances of the assault. The Police have communicated the case to the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office, which will have to intervene in the proceedings.
